design: reshaping the worlds most famous skyline.

29 Aug

This week in New York City saw what was described as an “assault on a skyline loved by billions of people around the world”, thats big talk in a city which just 9 short years ago faced what was literally an assault on its skyline at the hands of terrorists.  15 Penn Plaza won’t outshine it’s neighbour the Empire State building, in either beauty or height (at 363 metres (1,190ft), falling short of the ESB’s 443 meters) but it will dramatically change midtown.  Reshaping the skyline?  Wouldn’t that suggest it was ‘finished’ in the first place?
